Enroll

The enrollment procedure for the Master’s Degree Program in African and Asian Studies
(SAA) is divided into two phases: preliminary admission and subsequent enrollment.

Admission
The admission process involves an evaluation of titles, which begins on May 15, 2024, and
closes on October 3, 2024. The evaluation procedure is ongoing, and typically, you will
receive a response within 2 business days after submitting your application. After receiving
a positive response regarding the evaluation of your titles, it is necessary to enroll in the
Master’s Degree Program according to the instructions provided on this same page.
After 3 October 2024, however, it is still possible to make a specific request for a titles
evaluation, subject to payment of a late fee.

The last deadline for registration is 31 March 2025.

The recommendation is therefore to proceed with the assessment of titles as soon as
possible in order to be properly addressed to the various teaching activities of the degree
course.
It is possible to apply for the evaluation of titles even if you have not yet obtained a
Bachelor’s degree, provided that at the time of application you have completed at least
150 CFU and commit to graduating by March 31, 2025 at the latest. In this case,
admission is considered conditional.

University fees: The university fees are calculated taking into account various factors.
To estimate the registration costs, the University of Pavia has developed software that
helps determine an approximate amount, which you can refer to.
Housing and living in Pavia: The choice of accommodation is an important aspect for
students. In addition to a highly competitive private market, students at the University of
Pavia can also benefit from a unique system of university colleges in Italy.

There are two types of colleges available:

Merit Colleges

EDiSU Colleges (Ente per il diritto allo studio universitario)
Access to merit colleges is subject to a selection process (written and oral) and is
reserved for highly meritorious and motivated students. Admission competitions for
merit colleges take place every year between spring and summer. You can find a
presentation of the four merit colleges in Pavia at this link.
The eleven EDiSU colleges offer approximately 1,500 places, and the costs vary
according to income brackets. Access to these colleges is through a public competition.
Additionally, there are four private colleges in Pavia that further expand the possibilities
available to students. Each college offers a wide range of services and extracurricular
activities. You can access useful information about university colleges on the dedicated
webpage.
