The Mediterranean Alliance for Research and Education (MARE) is a project designed to promote international collaboration and the exchange of knowledge among universities and research centers in the Mediterranean region. The initiative emphasizes interdisciplinary and intercultural engagement, with the goal of fostering academic, economic, and cultural development in participating countries. To achieve these objectives, MARE has developed a comprehensive work plan that includes a range of coordinated activities, with a strong focus
on mobility programs and thematic work packages. The number of work packages
corresponds to the scale and complexity of the project and is divided into two main
categories: joint training programs and mobility programs for the exchange of students,
teaching staff, and administrative personnel. The project is grounded in the belief that the internationalization of higher education institutions is essential to the development of the Mediterranean region. By encouraging the mobility of students, faculty, and researchers,
MARE aims to foster a diverse and dynamic academic environment that transcends national borders. MARE is also founded on the conviction that knowledge transfer and skills development are key drivers of economic growth and social progress. By facilitating the dissemination of Italian academic expertise across the Mediterranean, the project seeks to contribute to the training of highly qualified professionals capable of addressing today’s global challenges.
